Tonight in Live Oak Springs

We're slowing a bit through the mountains to accommodate some folks who are having some mechanical issues and are struggling a bit with the climbs so we won't make Ocotillo till tomorrow. No problem, we'll get there eventually. So far, I'm running with the strong riders. No mechanical problems. I won't be left behind today at least. Tomorrow is a big downhill into the desert.

The sun has come out and other than the occasional impatient driver, all is right with the world.

Howdy. I'm following your progress, and with Ann's assistance I've learned (I hope) how to communicate with you. Beginnings are always a challenge and stressful. You will be in a rhythm before you know it. I must say your adventure reminds me in a small way of the book I'm reading, "A Walk In the Woods", by a guy named Bryson. It is about his adventures on the Appalachian trail. Humorous and poignant at the same time. I'm sure before long you will figure out the involved personalities and naturally gravitate to compatible folks. As for me, I've been pulling out mounds and mounds of Mountain Misery....by hand, with the eventual goal of compliance with Cal Fire's defensible space regulations. Yuck.
    Cheers,
    Marty
